"Little Bear"

Little Bear

Little Bear was a Cree leader and son of noted Cree Chief Big Bear. Little Bear fled south across the border to Montana following the "Frog Lake Incident" in 1885. He and his people joined Ojibwe Chief Rocky Boy when President Woodrow Wilson signed into law an act of Congress creating "a reservation for Rocky Boy's band of Chippewa's and such other homeless Indians in the state of Montana..."
